1. Measure square feet - call in your order and schedule pick-up. Please allow 2 days.
2. Prepare your soil - till your dirt, remove debris, old grass and rocks, and put a starter fertilizer down. Spade your dirt around sidewalks 1 inch below.
3. Immediately put sod down if you are installing in the heat of summer (two to three days at most) and storing the sod in a shaded area if possible. Begin installing sod on straight line such as a driveway or sidewalk, place ends together tightly without stretching, avoiding gaps or overlaps.
We recommend limiting sod installation to no more than two days during the heat of summer to ensure optimal results and prevent stress on the grass. Stagger joints in each row in a brick fashion using a large, sharp knife to trim corners. To avoid causing indentations or air pockets, avoid walking or kneeling on dirt during installation or while watering the sod.
4. Give your new lawn at least one inch of water half an hour after installation, or place a sprinkler on it during the installation. Then water 3 times daily or more often, keeping turf moist until firmly rooted down (the first two weeks). Then water daily or more often, keeping turf moist until firmly rooted down (the first two weeks). We suggest watering during the heat of the day, in addition to the morning and evening. Standing water can stress the sod.
Weather conditions will dictate the amount and frequency of watering, be certain that your lawn has enough moisture to survive hot, dry, and windy periods. Water areas near buildings more often where it reflects heat and dries the turf. In 3 to 4 weeks, it can be mowed.
