Have a sod and turf-related question? We have the answer. Check out these FAQs and give us a call today for more information!

  • Do you offer delivery service?

No, we do not offer delivery services. However, we do assist with loading your pickups and trailers to ensure a smooth pickup experience.

  • How soon do I have to lay down the sod after picking it up?

Sod can be rolled up for a couple of days, but it's best to lay it down as soon as possible. Once it's rolled out, it will need to be watered immediately.

  • How often should I water fresh sod?

As soon as you lay down the sod, water it until you see mud forming under the grass. Then, during the summer heat, you'll want to water the sod three times a day — morning, midday, and evening. In cooler seasons, water it midday and evening.

  • When do you start cutting sod?

We begin cutting sod in April, weather permitting. By May, the sod looks much nicer and is ready for use.

  • Do you hold sod until later in the year?

We operate on a first-come, first-served basis, so unfortunately, we do not hold sod for later in the year.

  • What is the difference between the two kinds of sod?

Fescue: Thicker and more durable, but it's not as green and soft as other types.

Bluegrass: Green and soft, but it requires more water and fertilizer during the summer.

  • How can I fix dog spots in the sod?

In the summer: Dog spots require a lot of water to heal. Keep the areas well-watered.

In the spring (after winter): Dig out the damaged area and replace it with fresh sod, then keep it watered.

Dog urine, especially from females, can be very salty, which contributes to the damage. For more severe issues, we recommend talking to a vet, but this is a a common problem for pet owners.
